Elastica - Stutter EP (1995)

Elastica - Line Up EP (1994)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 14 MB t

This Australian single of "Stutter" is notewothy for one more song not found on the "Line Up," "Connection," or "Waking Up" import singles or the LP called "Pussycat." This one's their best non-LP track ever (just ahead of "Spastica"), a sleek, stylish little purr-er (forgive me), with a classy, pricklish guitar line circling a playful, loping bassline. How could it be this post-punk tickler didn't make the band's new LP, Elastica?!?

Elastica - Connection + Video (1995)

Elastica - Connection (1995)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps y Mpg - 72 MB

Elastica's debut album may cop a riff here and there from Wire or the Stranglers, yet no more than Led Zeppelin did with Willie Dixon or the Beach Boys with Chuck Berry. The key is context. Elastica can make the rigid artiness of Wire into a rocking, sexy single with more hooks than anything on Pink Flag ("Connection") or rework the Stranglers' "No More Heroes" into a more universal anthem that loses none of its punkiness ("Waking Up"). But what makes Elastica such an intoxicating record is not only the way the 16 songs speed by in 40 minutes, but that they're nearly all classics. The riffs are angular like early Adam & the Ants, the melodies tease like Blondie, and the entire band is as tough as the Clash, yet they never seem anything less than contemporary. Justine Frischmann's detached sexuality adds an extra edge to her brief, spiky songs — "Stutter" roars about a boyfriend's impotence, "Car Song" makes sex in a car actually sound sexy, "Line Up" slags off groupies, and "Vaseline" speaks for itself. Even if the occasional riff sounds like an old wave group, the simple fact is that hardly any new wave band made records this consistently rocking and melodic.

Elastica - Line Up EP (1994)

Elastica - Line Up EP (1994)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 12 MB

After one measly out of print limited-edition 7" ("Sputter"), this three-women, one-man group's CD-single debut proves the band is worthy of attention outside of any dubious, temporal feeding frenzy followed by any shunning frenzy scene. Warning: the B-sides, all about a minute and a half, are inconsequential. Nothing against short classics, but "Vaseline" and the Peel Sessions of "Rockunroll" and "Annie" fail to register in their precious seconds other than a more punky Blondie doing throwaway singalongs. But singles aren't judged on B-sides; "Line Up" begins with a nice nod toward 1977 Wire (a rip-off of "Lowdown" or "Strange"), then settles into a That Petrol Emotion-type Beefheart-pop groove with needling guitars, nervousness, and style leading to the "no no no no" chorus. Frischmann here sounds more convincing and more penetrating, more Pauline Murry or Penelope Houston than Debbie Harry
. The result is that this could be the start of even greater things to come.

Elastica - Connection (1994)

Elastica - Connection (1994)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 12 MB

Elastica's brief, angular, and catchy punk rock became a hit on both sides of the Atlantic in 1995. While the group reworked both the sound and the image of new wave and punk rockers like Adam & the Ants, Wire, the Buzzcocks, and Blondie, the band's songs are more pop-oriented and hook-driven than most of their influences, and Justine Frischmann's cool sexuality is earthier, yet more detached, than Debbie Harry's.

Goblin with Enrico Simonetti - Gamma (1975)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 8MB

02 - Drug´s Theme

The Cramps - Fiends of Dope Island (2003)

The Cramps - Fiends of Dope Island (2003)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 66MB

Having decided long ago that messing with their one of a kind formula was a fruitless waste of time, the Cramps now seem happy to let albums such as 2003's Fiends of Dope Island perpetuate their unmistakable sound: authentic psychobilly riffs executed with garage punk panache, combined with fun-loving lyrics about bondage, drugs, Satanism, slasher flicks — in sum, all things kitsch and trash culture. Even better, inexorable advancing age has apparently only served singer Lux Interior's desires, by helping him look like the gloriously decrepit B-movie monster that he's always wanted to be on the record's striking cover. Once inside, the Cramps' latest amusement park house of horrors of an album confirms that Interior is again up to his patented vocal tricks — be it howling possessed on "Papa Satan Sang Louie," growling lasciviously on the (Seattle) Wailers' "Hang Up," exaggeratedly crooning like the King himself over Jerry Reed's "Oowee Baby," or convulsively "bow-bow-bowing" his way through "Elvis Fucking Christ!" As for his life partner in crime, Poison Ivy, her crunchy grooves shimmy their way across tracks like "Big Black Witchcraft Rock" and "Dopefiend Boogie"; her primal riffs pay tribute to Link Wray with the "Rumble" replica "Color Me Black"; and her stinging, fleet-fingered leads positively electrify anthems both swinging ("Fissure of Rolando") and ripping ("Wrong Way Ticket"), all the while conjuring mental images of her studiously disinterested expression under red bouffant and over high-heeled s**t-kicker boots, her cigarette dangling distractedly. Moving right along, the duo creates twisted surf music with both "Mojo Man from Mars" and "Taboo" (a cover of obscure songwriter Margarita Lecuona), and even makes sure to provide entertaining titles to weaker numbers like "Dr. Fucker M.D. (Musical Deviant)" and "She's Got Balls." The rhythm section of Chopper Franklin (bass) and Harry Drumdii (errr, drums) handles its appointed task (providing those raunchy stripper rhythms) capably and unobtrusively so the two head ghouls can do their thang. In short, a solid outing — unmistakable as anyone but the Cramps — that should neither detract nor add to their established legacy. Their fans could probably ask for nothing more at this stage.

The Cramps - Big Beat From Badsville (2001)

The Cramps - Big Beat From Badsville (2001)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 76MB

Once again an excellent album from the Cramps. Sometimes you wonder can they still find old songs they want to cover, do they still have inspiration to make a new album, and then after 2 years waiting there's suddenly always a new Cramps album. This album is more rockabilly then ever. Well it's their version of rockabilly of course, because the first song of the album is a typical let's-tear-this-place up Cramps song. Maniacal, monotonous drums, fuzz guitar and not all too difficult lyrics. The lyrics of the Cramps are always very poetical. What about: Well the docter pulled me out and smakced me in the can. Wiped me off, took a look and said "it's a man! Well of course you have to hear Lux's voice to it, but it's a small impression. Thsi album is full of good songs, but "Burn she-devil burn", and "Like a bad girl should" really stand out.

The Cramps - Look Mom No Head! (1991)

The Cramps - Look Mom No Head! (1991)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 59MB

Out of print in the U.S.! The fiendishly fun Cramps have been creating their own style of dirty Garage Rock 'N' Roll for 30 years and they show no sign of letting up. Although not the most prolific band on the planet, they certainly cram plenty of meat onto each of their silver platters when they do get around to releasing them. Look Mom, No Head!, originally released in 1991, is no exception. It's raw and it's dirty! It growls and snarls! It kicks and screams! Yes, it's The Cramps doing what they do best. If you're looking for a ghoulishly good time, look no further! 12 tracks including 'Dames, Booze, Chains & Boots', 'Alligator Stomp' and 'Two Headed Sex Change'. Big Beat.

The Cramps - RockinNReelinInAucklandNewZealand (1986)
Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 66MB

From 1986 to 1990, the Cramps eschewed studio work in favor of extensive touring; this album documents a live show from August 1986. The sound quality is crude at best, but the Cramps' music and attitude are just as crude, so the already wild performances are actually somewhat enhanced. The repertoire relies heavily on A Date With Elvis and also features covers of "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Do the Clam."

The Cramps - A Date With Elvis (1986))
Mp3 @ 192 kbps - 48MB

The cramps are truly original and this album is one of their best. Lux Interior does his best psychotic Elvis imitaion on tracks like "Can Your ... Do The Dog?" and the opening track features Poison Ivy's vibrato pulsing country blues licks. All this and no bass player just pure garage rockabilly punk that kicks you in the head. The lyrics will make you laugh too.

The Cramps - Bad Music for Bad People (1984)

The Cramps - Bad Music for Bad People (1984)
Mp3 @ 128 kbps -28MB

O Music for Bad People is the sixth album by the American garage punk band The Cramps. It was released on I.R.S. Records and was seen by most fans as a cynical cash-in by the record label following the departure of the band. Sounds magazine, the now defunct UK music paper, whilst giving the album a five star review said "Miles Copeland's IRS label pick the carrion of their former label mates even cleaner by releasing a watered down version of the 'Off the Bone' singles collection that was released in the UK...The music's still great even if the scheming behind 'Bad Music for Bad People' stinks of decay and corruption

The Cramps - Smell Of Female (1983)

The Cramps - Smell Of Female (1983)
Mp3 @ 192 kbps -46MB

Originally release in 1983, this completely remastered Vengence reissue was recorded at New York's Peppermint Lounge with Powers on guitar, the quartet slams out a then mostly entirely new set of songs with, as expected, appropriate covers as needed. The wonderfully profane take on Hasil Adkins' 'She Said' surfaces here, with Interior sounding like he's about to die more than once. The Count Five's 'Psychotic Reaction' and the perfectly appropriate 'Faster Pussycat,' taken from the legendary Russ Meyer film of the same name, also give the band more than a little something to chew onA studio cut, 'Surfin' Dead,' surfaces as a ringer at the end; if not quite the Cramps go Beach Boys. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Off the Bone is the first compilation of previously released material by American garage punk band The Cramps. It was released in 1983 in the United Kingdom on Illegal Records. The original release featured an Anaglyph on the cover and a pair of paper red and blue "3D glasses" inside the sleeve for viewing it. Sounds magazine, the now defunct British music weekly gave the album a 5 star review, calling it " a hell-fire cocktail of gutter riffing and chattering Rockabilly voodoo strum into which is dropped an electric sugar cube of psychedelic power

The Cramps - Psychedelic Jungle(1981)/Gravest Hits (1989)

The Cramps - Songs the lord Taught Us (1980)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps -68MB

Combining what is arguably the band's finest full-length album with their debut collection of covers, Psychedelic Jungle/Gravest Hits offers up a substantial dose of the Cramps' punk-strained mix of rockabilly music and '50s horror flick aesthetics. Lux Interior's ghoulishly manic vocals, Poison Ivy's treble-heavy guitar distortion, and Knick Knox's tribal beat are all ideally showcased on such Cramps classics as "Goo Goo Muck," "Primitive," "Green Door," and "The Crusher." While these are all fine covers, originals such as "Caveman," "Can't Find My Mind," and "Beautiful Garden" demonstrate the Cramps could take their rockabilly roots to fetchingly Gothic extremes. Adding to the riches from Psychedelic Jungle, the five-song EP, Gravest Hits, features inimitable versions of the Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird," Roy Orbison's early rockabilly side "Domino," and the Ricky Nelson hit "Lonesome Town." With quality roundups hard to come by, Cramps fans would do well to pick this two-fer of the band's prime early material.

The Cramps - Songs the lord Taught Us (1980)

The Cramps - Songs the lord Taught Us (1980)

Mp3 @ 192 kbps -91MB

The Cramps were a filthy, perverse, deranged, and brainlessly brilliant band of rock `n' roll zombie punks. Their music was a raw, rude, and ruckus-raising celebration of rock `n' roll at its most heroically gruesome, an unholy combination of backwoods hell bound rockabilly and snarling punk rock. It's a greasy, apocalyptic screech, a stomach-rupturing good time that sounds like nothing else you've ever heard. It's friggin' jeen-ee-us!

Released in 1980, Songs The Lord Taught Us is the group's rip-roaring, feedback `n' eco soaked debut, and good golly what a record it is! "T.V. Set" is pure Hasil Adkins-afflicted psychosis, while the "Garbageman" Is an apocalyptic hillbilly-metal blaster masterpiece. "Rock On The Moon" is a quadruple-time explosion that threatens to rip the moon in half, while "Zombie Dance" is cool enough to wake the dead. "Sunglasses After Dark" is furious, "What's Behind The Mask" is hilarious, and their rendition of "Fever" is the sound of corpses gettin' it on. They've even got a version of the 60s garage rock classic "Strychnine," and a barnstorming semi-group-anthem entitled "I'm Cramped." Classic!

Country Joe & The Fish - Collectors Items: The First Three EP's (1965-1966)

Country Joe & The Fish - Collectors Items: The First Three EP's (1965-1966))

Mp3 @ 192 kbps -91MB

Before they burst into mainstream stardom via "Woodstock," Country Joe & The Fish recorded a pair of "talking magazines" -- 7" EPs that were an outgrowth of McDonald's political publication, Rag Baby. The first, recorded in 1965, contains the original versions of a pair of songs that would turn up (in re-recorded form) on the band's debut album. "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag" and "Superbird" are both rendered as folky jug-band tunes, the former overdubbed with war sound effects, and the latter with a directness that bites even harder than the later album take. The flip side of this original EP contained a pair of tunes from folk singer Peter Krug, "Fire in the City" and "Johnny's Gone in the War," each rendered in a straight ahead vocal-and-guitar arrangement.

In 1966 CJ & The Fish cut a second Rag Baby EP. By this time they'd electrified, with the bluesy electric guitar and Farfisa sound that would become familiar on the following year's Vanguard LP debut. Early versions of "Bass Strings" and "Section 43" show the band having made an enormous psychedelic leap from the previous year's outing.

Rounding out the Rag Bay collection is a purpose-built 1971 EP by Country Joe, sans Fish, that was to be sold at a series of anti-war "FTA" (Free the Army) shows to fund the shows and veteran's activities. Few copies apparently made it to shows to be sold (many having been lost or burned!). The tunes, "Kiss My Ass," "Tricky Dicky" and "Free Some Day" are more pointed and politicized than ever, and the arrangements return to the folk and jug-band sounds of the early days.

The Rag Baby EPs have been released several times, first on vinyl, then on CD. The earliest reissue appears to have been a 1980 vinyl LP on a reactivated Rag Baby label; this was re-reissued on CD by Sequel in 1987. Both the LP and CD included the three EP's original ten tracks, plus an alternate version of "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die Rag." In 1997 the One Way label issued a CD that augmented the original ten tracks with two alternates of "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die Rag" as well as a pair of previously unreleased sides ("Who Am I?" and "Dirty Claus Rag") that were recorded at the original 1965 session. The three tracks from the second Rag Baby EP also turned up on Big Beat's "The Berkeley EPs" in 1995.

Of all the reissues, One Way's fourteen-track compendium is the most fully baited hook for Fish fans.
